2025-26 Collection

To start off the year, NCSU AED focused on recruitment and campus outreach. Members helped advertise AED to prospective members on campus through events such as Packapalooza, tabling in Talley Student Union, and various Interest Meetings. We got to meet so many amazing people, many of whom are now inducted members and/or pledges!

Start of The Semester

The next major milestone for the Delta chapter’s year was our Welcome event in September. This year, AED granted acceptances to 56 new pledges and 10 new initiates. The selection criteria to join the Honor society at NC State has been consistently becoming more rigorous, as seen with the stats and extracurriculars of our new admits. We are excited to see how they will contribute to the chapter this year and beyond!

Shortly following the Welcome Event, members, pledges, and initiates had the opportunity to connect with each other and fundraise for AED at Goodberry’s in Cameron Village!

AED Chapter Meetings provide a place for everyone to get together, unwind, and get caught up on what’s going on within the club. This year, we’ve played Jeopardy, gone outside for some volleyball, and hosted a few guest speakers to talk with our club about life in medicine. We would like to offer a special thanks to all of our guest speakers who have shared their valuable time with us!

Chapter Meetings

This year, AED had the opportunity to partner with JWR CPR to host a CPR certification class. Over 20 members obtained their certifications over the span of two courses offered in the month. These certifications are often required for entry-level healthcare jobs, and are a necessity for anyone looking to get involved with clinical work.

Some of the best ways AED gets involved in the community is through health awareness charity walks. Our members volunteered in three different events this year, including the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, the NC Walk4Hearing, and Triangle Light the Night. All of these events bring together so many amazing people are we’re extremely grateful to be able to help out!

What better thing to do in October than pumpkin carving? AED brought out their best carving skills to see who could create the best designs. Of course to stay consistent, many pumpkins were medicine-themed :)

There’s not many better things to do in Raleigh in the fall besides tailgating at an NC State football game. So, in November that’s what we did for NC State’s home game vs. Georgia Tech. It also just so happened to be one our better wins for an otherwise average season. Maybe AED is the good luck charm?

The beginning of November saw AED members help out as volunteers with the American Chemical Society’s National Chemistry Week events in downtown Raleigh. During this event, AED members assisted the Chemistry Graduate Student Association at NCSU with set-up and take-down, as well as manning tables to showcase various chemical reactions to young students at the event!

Partnering with the Pack Cancer Organization at NCSU, AED held a joint pickleball tournament to raise money for the Lung Cancer Initiative during lung cancer awareness month. Made possible by some great weather, we had an absolute blast and got to improve our pickleball skills with each other.

Outdoor Social Events

In April, NCSU AED partnered with the American Red Cross to host a blood drive for our members! Throughout the day, AED helped set up and maintain the event while donating over 35 pints of blood!

With the spring weather getting warmer in Raleigh, AED held many outdoor social events for people to get together and get some sun! From volleyball to kickball, there was no shortage of sports available!

Friendsgiving

AED’s Friendsgiving with the Pre-Dental Club at NCSU was a big success, with so many tasty dishes being brought for everyone. As a bonus, we also got to watch the men’s basketball team begin their season with a win!

Semi-Formal

March 2026

Regarded as AED’s biggest event of the year, members, pledges, and initiates all get together for a night in downtown Raleigh! In the midst of exams and assignments, our semi-formal offers everyone a chance to unwind and get to know each other even more.

Feed the Pack

April 2026

In March, AED members helped volunteer with NC State’s official food pantry, Feed the Pack! We were able to assist with many of the food pantry operations, which provide support for many students and community members in need of food assistance.

Initiation

AED’s final event of the semester is our most important – Initiation! Welcoming our new pledge class is always very memorable, and this year was no different. For 2026, NCSU AED oversaw the induction of over 45 new pledges who have been a very active and an integral part of our chapter over the past year. Congratulations to all of our new members.
